Today is ASCT +1.
Not a very eventful day, was today, which after yesterday is just hunky-dory with me.
I had a very minor issue with some fluid in my upper right lobe of my lungs and a very mild sore throat when I woke up this morning. My nurse suggested that I use the saline mouth-rinse that I am supposed to use about every 2 hours when I am awake and gargle with it too. Well you know how it is when you gargle, sometimes it seems to fall a little too far down the throat so you have to cough to keep that from entering your lungs. It seems that with that short series of coughs, both my wheeze and the slight sore throat was gone.
Other than that, my only complaint today is nausea. I’ve been getting some drugs that help and so do the ginger candies that Anne and Dean gave me in the summer of 2012, when we were together in the great north woods. As a general result, I haven’t had much appetite so perhaps I can lose some of that flab I’ve been trying to get rid of.
You may ask why nausea three days after the high dose chemo? These chemo drugs, of this type, basically go after cells that divide quickly and the cells that line our stomachs are that kind of cell too.
Nancy and Vickie came by to visit after they left work. It was great to see them and catch up on how things are.
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for my healing and for those that we pray for, Leighton, Barbara, Hirma, Berris, Sylvia, Nicola, Mike, and Joe.
Amen.
